Our Story

" Throughout my journey, I saw too many leaders, ahead of their time and with strong instincts about what might be possible, failing to make it to the next step due to a lack of support, resources or understanding of their vision for change.

This absence of early alignment of essential factors results in a missed opportunity to address our world’s most pressing and challenging issues, and I want to change that. It is with that ambition in mind that I started Space2Leap."

about space2leap

Space2Leap was founded by the French Polynesian entrepreneur Matatea Changuy to empower purpose-driven people, companies, and ideas.

The Space2Leap team currently consists of its founder and a growing network of extraordinary volunteers, like-minded independent consultants, experts in technical fields and partners in different countries. The Space2Leap team is fluid and flexible and is formed on a project-basis. Together, we combine forces to meet the growing demand of seed projects that seek early-stage support to get off the ground.

What does our team at large have in common? High standards for humanity, love for innovation, passion for empowering those who need a voice, adaptability, action-oriented mindset, and big picture thinking at all times.

Space2Leap's vision is to grow into a space for founders to find the support and attention they need to thrive.

Space2Leap holds close its vision to inspire more purpose-driven work by empowering a strong network of visionary minds and coaching young social entrepreneurs seeking to make a difference in their communities.

about Matatea

Matatea Changuy, a.k.a. Téa (TEY-YA) Changuy (SHON-GHEE) is a multi-passionate entrepreneur and principal consultant at Space2Leap.

Of French-Chinese descent, she was born and raised on the island of Tahiti, French Polynesia, where her great-grandfather, the local politician Francis Sanford, led the struggle for Polynesian independence from French rule, including a vociferous opposition to France’s nuclear test program in French Polynesia. Her great-grandfather’s political and environmental legacy inspired her to build a cause-driven career.

Téa boasts eight years of management experience for mission-driven entities across industries and countries. Over time, she has refined her niche and added value to the world in enabling complex, forward looking, and high-risk/high-reward endeavors in sustainability and space exploration.

Téa is an alumnae of Oxford University (Msc.), Auckland University (BA), and Universidad Católica de Chile (academic exchange). She is trilingual (French, English, and Spanish), has survival language skills in Japanese, and has an interdisciplinary background in Asian and Latin American studies with a focus on natural resources governance. Téa lived, worked, and studied on four different continents and thrives in collaborative, multicultural, and intellectually stimulating environments.

After living and working in Silicon Valley for 5 years, Téa relocated to Los Angeles, CA, in 2017 where she founded Space2Leap. When she is not thinking about better ways to serve other leaders, she can be found training in different sports, testing new cuisine on her partner, refining her scotch tasting skills, or listening to her favorite podcasts.
